St. Wenceslaus Happenings

Each Tuesday during Holy Week, the Bishop celebrates the Chrism Mass, the Blessing of Oils used in various rites (Oil of the Catechumens, Oil of the Sick, Sacred Chrism).  Representatives come from all the parishes in the Diocese to retrieve the Blessed Oils and meet in prayer.  During the Mass, the priests of the Diocese of Gaylord renew their priestly vows of service.  You are cordially invited to attend the Chrism Mass on Tuesday, March 31, at St. Mary, Gaylord Cathedral at 11:00 a.m.  For those at home, the Chrism Mass will be live streamed on the Diocese of Gaylord YouTube channel. 

After the Chrism Mass, young men in grade 6–adults are invited to the annual St. Andrew Luncheon!  This is an opportunity for fellowship with Bishop Walsh, seminarians. 

You can now bring those religious items to the Church basement for recycling.  The last date for drop-off is April 5.  A religious group will be here to pick them after April 6th.  Please put the items in boxes; do not seal or close the boxes.  All items will be sorted and repacked on site.  This is a wonderful opportunity to share those religious treasures you are not using and no longer want. 

Thanks to all who came to the Lenten Holy Hour program, to all who were able to stay and pray the Stations of the Cross during the Lenten Season and to those who volunteered to lead the Stations, to all who came to the Friday Holy Hour and Fish Dinner, to Jerry Fleis, head cook and helpers, Fr. Michael, and Ann and Ken Mosier, to those who helped to clear the snow after the big snowfall, especially Steve Kalchik and Paul Korson. 

For those who wish to donate for Easter Flowers, please write the name of the person (s) you wish to honor/remember on the back of the envelope.  Write the check to St. Wenceslaus with Easter Flowers on the memo line. 

There will be a Yard Sale and Raffle this year.  Please save those unwanted treasures. 
Please let Deacon Martin know what you will donate for a raffle prize.

Area Happenings
That Man is You, a men’s gathering to enhance spirituality, 8:30– 9:30, at St. Mary, Lake Leelanau. 

Sundays at 2 p.m., Euchre Suttons Bay, St. Michael’s.  The $5 cost covers refreshments and prizes.  The group has decided to play until April 19 ending with a Pizza Party. 

April 3, 4: First Friday & Saturday, St. Michael 8:30 a.m., St. Mary 8:30 a.m. Friday & 8:00 a.m. Saturday. 

April 18: Euchre Night, at St. Mary Cafeteria, 6:00 p.m. sign-in, $10 entry fee, bring your favorite snack to share.  Top 3 players Prize and Most Loners Prize.
